Labels

Use labels to group Data Collectors registered with Control Hub. For example, you can use labels to group Data Collectors by project, geographic region, environment, department, or any other classification you choose.

The labels assigned to Data Collectors determine which jobs are run on those Data Collectors.

When you automatically provision Data Collectors, you assign labels to deployments. Each Data Collector container provisioned with that deployment is assigned the same labels. After the provisioned Data Collectors are running and registered with Control Hub, you can assign additional labels to the provisioned Data Collectors just as you can for any registered Data Collector.

Labels function the exact same way when you directly assign them to Data Collectors or when you assign them to deployments. For a detailed description of labels including examples and how to assign labels to deployments, see Engine Labels.
