Disconnected Mode

After an SDC Edge is registered with Control Hub, the SDC Edge communicates with Control Hub at regular intervals - around every 30 seconds or less. If an SDC Edge cannot connect to Control Hub, due to a network or system outage, then the SDC Edge uses the Control Hub disconnected mode.

When you start a job, Control Hub can run a remote pipeline instance on each SDC Edge assigned all labels tagged to the job. As an SDC Edge runs a pipeline instance, it periodically sends the latest offset to Control Hub.

If an SDC Edge becomes disconnected from Control Hub, the SDC Edge continues to run the remote pipeline instance and locally maintains the offset. It updates Control Hub with the latest offset as soon as it reconnects to Control Hub.
